Lately I squeeze in as much sleep as possible until I have to get up and get ready before our night caregiver leaves at 8AM. Here is my go-to easy everyday makeup routine.
I start with KVD Lock-It foundation. This foundation is very matte, and it definitely locks in place. I use a damp beauty blender to dab and blend because it’s not a foundation that you can move around a lot once it’s on. I mix together two shades: Light 42 Neutral and Light 45 Neutral.
Next I use my old tried and true Revlon Photoready Concealer in Fair 001. I use it under my eyes and it’s dewy enough that it doesn’t create creases or a cakey look.
For blush, I love the KVD Everlasting Blush in Peony. In the winter especially, I have very fair skin. It adds just the right pop of colour without looking too dramatic.
On my eyebrows, I use Revlon Colorstay Brow Creator in Dark Brown. I have unsymmetrical eyebrows…that’s just the way they are and I’m not a fan of overly done eyebrows anyways. There are pictures of me trying out that look and it wasn’t pretty! So I don’t like to shape them too much. I just darken them up a little bit.
For mascara I use Covergirl Last Blast Volume. It is my old standby. I have tried so many other mascaras and I just keep coming back to it!
For highlight I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Sugar Glow Kit. All four colours are so beautiful. I use the colour Starburst most often, but I also love the other three! I apply highlight to my cheekbones, tip of my nose, and above my brows.
To hold everything together, I use the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray. I’ve been using this setting spray for years and it really does the trick. It even works well when having to wear a mask over my makeup.
My friend Kellie suggested this O’Keeffe’s Lip Repair to me a couple years ago, and it is phenomenal! In the bitterly cold, dry winters we have here in Northern Alberta, it really keeps my lips from getting dry and cracking. And even if they have gotten to that point, this lip balm helps to heal them!
